Harry Potter and Vince Noire fed two penguins together.

Sounds like I had a wacky idea for a fic.

But I swear I'm not doing drugs. I really just saw Daniel Radcliffe and Noel Fielding doing jsut that a few minutes ago on the Jonathan Ross Show (I actually have no idea what the show is called but it's the one on ITV right now).

I realised that I should make a post about the situation of my account on livejournal which I can link should people be interested.

As a christmas present for myself I deleted all entries I had at that account. Obviously that is not a loss at all since I had all my posts already copied on insanejournal as well as dreamwidth.

I like subject lines. I'm against harrassment by staff members. I like freedom of speech. I like good communication between businesses and customers. But in the end it's not LJs behaviour this time that led to this decision. Okay, I'm sure that strikthrough had a huge influence on me.

But much more important is: my changed opinion. In the past I thought their behaviour plus my content was an alright price to pay for that kind of service and the simple truth is: I don't think that's true anymore. And for me, the consequence was to take my content away.

Well, it has been some time...but I wrote my last exam today and finally have some time to post again. Believe me I tried to write up a post several time in the last year (I mean the whole of 2010) but every time I deleted the post again because I thought it not good enough, not interesting enough, too provocative, too badly written etc.

However, at the moment I feel deeply uncomfortable about the German reaction to the earthquake in Japan and its follow-up threat posed by the nuclear plant Fukushima.

My discomfort stems from the fact that the focus of interest is put on the nuclear threat from German nuclear power plants and not on the catastrophe and/or the people who have to endure it or who lost their live in the earthquake. In short: It's All About US!1!!

The irony in this is that the current government of Germany was not exactly known for their dislike of nuclear power until this event took place. In fact, they stopped the nuclear power phase-out which was planned by the penultimate government. The reasoning (or at least one reason) behind this was that nuclear power is much better for the environment than coal-firing power plants. Not to forget that research and development of alternative technologies is expensive and not something the state can afford (if this sounds bitter that's because I am, perhaps I will write another time what I think goes wrong with research funding).

What grates on my even more is how much this is blown out of proportion. It's like Haiti never happened. Or, to put it more bluntly (and - again - bitter): It's much worse when first world people die. I know it's difficult if not impossible to compare such catastrophes or to quantify them but the tone in articles sound to my ears much more concerned this time and I don't like that.

I've read this morning the first newspaper article which argued along the same lines nevertheless since this summarised my line of thought since Monday I thought I would share. (God, I think I forgot everything I've ever learnt about English...or was it always that difficult to write in this language? Sorry for the mistakes (and errors)!)

I learnt a valuable lesson last night. Well, actually two. First, while I normally stay calm in a conflict situation, I get really angry when you hurt someone I love. Secondly, a fist in your face sobers you up instantly and furthermore it really hurts... on the next day.
And just for the record. No, it's not cool to damage a windscreen because you're drunk. It's even less cool to kick someone who has its back turned to you. While you show of course what a Real Man you are when you hit a girl that is three to four heads shorter than you because she shouts at you (and really what did you expect after kicking someone? A pat on the back? Silent approval?).
And speaking of records, yes, we reported you to the police.
Update (sort of): Oh man, now I'm even scared in the aftermath. A friend who was with us last night just called and told me that the guy came after me when I landed on a car from his blow and was ready to hit me again. And then around ten guys were needed to get him away from us.

Two posts in two days...I must be doped.

I don't often visit http://adultfanfiction.net/, so when I go there I usually find something new and exciting.
And this time it was of the Snack variety. You can't see it but I'm grinning from ear to ear. I mean, Snack, you know.

My feet hurt like hell. I'm back from my first pilgrimage and 200 something kilometres later I can say your feet will hurt and you will be tired as hell but also proud of yourself. But really, your feet will hurt.
On another note, I should stop trying to write comments when I'm tired. It doesn't really help my ability to articulate myself comprehensively.

You know I don't read German fanfiction that often. One reason is that I read HP in English so I'm confused for a second when I read 'Todesesser' instead of 'Death Eater'. Another reason is that I have the rare ability to find fics that show a strong disregard for German orthography. I know it is difficult to find a beta; I myself have posted drabbles which weren't beta-read and had mistakes in them (well, one mistake but that is much in 100 words). On the other hand, I possess the rare ability to distinguish nouns and nominalisations (which are always written capitalised) from other word classes (which are normally not written capitalised - admittedly, this is a very basic rule and there are exceptions). So, when I read a fiction which starts with a big thank you to a beta reader and then I find an adjective written in capitals and the following noun not (and that not just once), I get... well, something between annoyed and weary.

The sad thing is that the story started so promising, no (dark)angel!Harry (or Draco) / Harry-as-Voldemort's-son / Gryffindor!Harry-who-hates-all-Gryffindors(esp. Ron and Hermione)-and conspires-with-Malfoy; no weird animagii for everyone (not a single unicorn animagus, can you believe it?). Even the names were spelt properly (I'm still cracking up about Dreco because I used a cleansing powder when I first encountered that spelling).

*grrr, arg*

It's really funny considering that I was never the most active person when it comes to writing post one should think that I'm used to writing sporadically and find it normal. However, quite the contrary is the case.

To make it short I hadn't much time to write in the last month because I moved, renovated and furnished the flat and got also married in between. Did I mention the honeymoon? Uhm, no. There was also a honeymoon.
That's why so many of my term papers still have to be written. And it pains me to say that the most fun I had in the last two weeks was while editing a paper (I swear I will freak if I don't go partying soon).

(WARNING: If you're religious and don't have humour this might offend you!)

My term paper about Creationism/Intelligent Design was killing me. According to my uncorrected version a lot of Christians believe in "Dog" since He created the universe. I scrambled the letters nearly every time. Furthermore, I'm a little sad because I concluded for the identity of the Intelligent Designer that he or she works for IKEA but I had to take the paragraph out (even though it was the best paragraph). *damnit*

Edit: Semagic won't do magic for me, it makes trouble again when I want to post to several journals at once. *grr*

Is it really June already? How could that happen?
Time flies.
At the moment most of my spare time is spent watching football. Germany plays Croatia tonight. I started to bite my fingernails a few minutes after breakfast. *is nervous*
Other than that I have some highlights in my courses - especially a girl who is, well, special. One of her gems was "Magic Johnson is gay, right? I mean, he has AIDS." Uhm, right, NO!

First of all, I finally found the time to friend some people I wanted to friend for some time.

Second, it snowed. White Eastern and rainy Christmas, could be a new trend.

Third, actually I'm only posting to tell you that I'll be away for the next few days (Amsterdam, here I cooooome!).

I wanted to compile a list with all of my fanfiction since the end of 2006. So, the beginning of 2008 seemed like a good opportunity to finally just do it.

Some Facts:
On the whole, 7 "fics" (most are ficlets) are written in English and 5 in German.
Pairing-wise I can present a vast variety: Snape/Black (4 ), Sirius/Remus (2), Snape/Dumbledore (1), Ron/Draco (1), Harry/Snape (1), Salazar/Godric (1), Gen (2)
It's interesting to note that most fics were written in 2005 (with a few exceptions) (a.k.a. the year before I took on my third course of studies).

Happy Holidays to everyone!

I know I'm late but the last days were somewhat stressful with the various family celebrations and a meeting with my friends I hosted yesterday (the last years that was always fun for me but this year it was more exhausting).

Due this this and numerous other reasons, I'm also way behind all the holiday exchanges I have on my flist (to be honest I was behind after the first week of December), so I'm happy that various people on my flist posted recs. You rock! (Not that is something new.)

First the flagging system and now the announcement that LJ has been sold to a Russian Company. I probably could write lengthy post about both topics but I don't want to. However, a few asides have to do:

- I would bet good money that I read a post during the strikethrough which argued that this kind of behaviour might hint at a sale of LJ. Well, WORD!

- As we all know with the strikethrough came a new policy which (among other things) forbid threatening the U.S. president. Does the same count for Putin now? And what happens when I mention that EU observers criticized the last Russian election being not exactly democratic?

It's time to finally post again. Not because something happened (well,I had a sex dream about Black ordering Snape to put his fingers into his ass, then Black spanked him, followed by hot sex...well, there were much, much more details but ) but my conscience troubles me about myonline absence. To be honest I really don't know what happens to my time. I have less courses for university than ever before but it seems I got less lazy. Or my courses are more demanding this term, I dunno.Besides, taking part in fandom develops my verbal skill as well as my critical judging concerning porn, so it's a win-win situation.

And now, I will drink a well-earned beer. Prost!

PS: Written yesterday evening but somehow the entry was only posted at lj and not here.

The LJ news community made me aware of the fact that it is Blog Action Day (link here, you have to scroll down a bit). The topic is the Environment. My first thought was to write about pollution, that everyone can help the environment and why we all should do it. That also might have mingled with my anger about the automobile industry. Not to mention my lack of comprehension for people who claim that human behaviour is not responsible for the changes in our environment (sure, I admit that there may be arguments for that but there are arguments for my view as well).

No, instead I want to write about the environment that upset me the most this year. Probably I'm the only one who has still problems with the new LJ policy but I find the current situation not really satisfying. Once upon a time I liked to log in to relax and take my mind off of RL. Nowadays I use two journal services, read two friend lists and while I accustomed myself with the new situation I can't say I still feel the light heartedness that fandom brought me before. When I surf on LJ I often see bolded user names in comments which reminds me of the whole mess. There are less posts than there used to be per day. I find more links to posts that are friend's locked (not that I blame people for that but it's still a reminder, at least for me). Plus, I'm much less online than I used to be, yet the effect from the policy debacle influences me a great deal. And what really angers me is that they (referring to LJ) don't take the joy out of fandom, no, they get ME to do it all on my own.

But you know what really change your environment (as well as my mood) for the better? PORN. The more, the better. And let's not forget kinks. Kinks are good as well.

So, to end this post on a positive note: Untitled; 248 Slightly Porny Words; Unbetaed; R/NC-17; Snape/Black Read more... )

Way to make new friends:
a) announce that you won't make movies with a female lead (see here)
b) sue some obscure but seemingly friendly festival (see here and here).
Really, I feel bitter in a Snapely way right about now. Sure, I don't know if it is WB...but, hmm, nope, doesn't stop me from feeling this way.
